The gods have sent us beans!

Fuel has come to HK. And it it good.
Before the advent of Fuel (which has just opened in IFC), there wasn't a decent coffee in HK. I know, because Si has had the coffee everywhere in HK. Anywhere that had a machine and beans, he hopefully ordered a latte, only to be served another milky/watery/burnt coffee. Our concern was that Fuel wouldn't meet our high expectations, but we shouldn't have worried.
We went there yesterday for lunch and Si ordered a latte while I got a mocha. The barista had a comforting kiwi-lynn of tawa-esque upward lilt to her words. This was promising in itself. Then we could see they were using NZ milk! And when the coffee came out, it was served in Fuel's beautiful sea-green crockery with the elegant gold piping, and it was lovely. It had a lovely aroma, beautifully frothed milk and a lovely rich taste. My mocha had a spare amount of dark chocolate, so it wasn't one of those sickly hot chocolate-with espresso's that so many crappy mochas are and was delicious.
It was so delicious, Si (who is a coffee addict, and at one point last year was going 8 cups a day and has a serious Mojo habit) has declared he will go whenever he can. He went to buy us coffees at lunch today and thought one of the barista's looked familiar. The barista looked at Si and then they both kindo f looked away then Si looked back and the barista said "Simon?" and Si said, "Gabriel?" Turned out it was one of Si's childhood school friends from Newtown school! ha, such a small world.
He gavee us the welcome news that there will be more than one Fuel in HK! yeah, if they can put one in our building, we are sorted.
